Our Coffee Origins

We are passionate about coffee. However, to us, coffee is not only about the perfectly brewed cup. It's just as much about our coffee farmers, the people who grow and nurture it.

Speciality Coffee

We source world class coffee, with world class taste. That is what speciality coffee is all about! The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), a nonprofit organization that represents thousands of coffee professionals scores coffee on a scale from 1-100. In other for a coffee to be labelled as “Speciality,” it must receive at least 80 points.

We take great pride in that we are one of the largest coffee shop brands to offer exclusively speciality coffee.

"A fine coffee bean requires quality from many aspects; the crop and bean itself but also where it is cultivated and harvested as well as the standard and conditions of the coffee farm. We only purchase the so-called Specialty Coffee since it tastes so much better, and also, I am convinced Specialty Coffee is the way towards sustainable sourcing of coffee in the future." - Jonas Hult, Green Coffee Buyer

Our Own Roastery

Take a look "behind the beans" at our coffee roastery in Sweden.

At Espresso House Group we are proud to say that all our coffee beans are carefully roasted to perfection (because why settle for less?) at Johan & Nyström Roastery, a state-of-the-art Specialty Coffee Roastery, which sources and roasts all the coffee for Espresso House. It’s located in Länna just outside Sweden’s capital, Stockholm. In 2017, we build brand new facilities, which makes it one of Europe’s most modern roasteries of Specialty Coffee.

In 2023, we roasted over 1,600 tons of coffee.

Roastery Environmental Impact

The roastery is continuously working towards reducing its environmental impact. Our outgoing transportations (within the Nordics) from the roastery are 100% climate compensated by our logistics partner. Whenever it’s possible, we also try to streamline the transports with our tea supplier in Germany to ensure that no transportations are running empty.

Genuine coffee lovers

Everyone in the roastery is committed and passionate about quality and are experts on the coffee lifecycle. Roasting Specialty Coffee is an art in itself, which requires a high degree of knowledge and understanding. We are committed to craft roasting, using the slow roasting method to ensure that every batch of beans is roasted to perfection.
