Espresso House raised 1 MM kr to fight loneliness

For the second successive year Espresso House activated CupTogether for Christmas, a campaign to raise money to fight loneliness in society. For every cup of filter coffee sold, 1 crown/10 cent was donated to a local association that works to prevent loneliness. For Christmas season 2022 Espresso House Group raised a total amount of 1 million Swedish crowns.

With the initiative CupTogether, launched in 2021, Espresso House is committed to a long-term program to break taboos and fight loneliness in society. This past Christmas season Espresso House Group raised over 1 million SEK to local associations across our markets. In Sweden Espresso House supported Maskrosbarn and raised in totalt 509 062 kr. This donation sum ensures that Maskrosbarn can provide over 1000 supportive talks with a counsellor to children that have a parent that suffers from an addiction, a mental illness or subjects them to violence. It also is enough to arrange Christmas Holiday Camps for the coming three years.

Coffee as a social tool

Espresso House strongly believes in the social power of coffee and invites people to come together, over a good cup of coffee.

- We meet loneliness in our coffee shops and we want Espresso House to be a place for all occasions and for all people. For socializing, for work meetings or to serve as a break on its own. For some people, a friendly Hi! from our barista is the only social contact of the day and our hope is that lonely people will feel a little less lonely in our coffee shops, says Sinne Fiil Fredslund, Director Brand and Communication, Espresso House Group.
