Espresso House invests 31 MM in its employees

Espresso House is introducing a pay rise for all employees in its cafés. The investment means that Espresso House salaries will be 5-10% higher than the collective agreement salary level. The pay increase is an investment to strengthen Espresso House's attractiveness as an employer and it applies to both part-time and full-time employees at Espresso House Coffee Shops.

As of 1 January 2023, Espresso House has set aside 31 million SEK for wage increases, which corresponds to an increase of 10 SEK per hour for café employees.

As a leader in the industry, Espresso House wants to offer a competitive salary. The wage increase is not an inflation subsidy, although the timing is fortunate now during an expensive winter.

- Espresso House should be an attractive place to work. For many young people, we are their first employer, and we want everyone to have a good start to their career. In a time of uncertainty, we're going the other way and investing for the long term in our most important asset: our people. We have taken this decision because we believe it is the right thing to do so and because we know it will support our business, both in the short and long term," says Anssi Thureson, CEO of Espresso House Group.

Espresso House wants to show appreciation for its employees and invest in them. At the same time, Espresso House hopes that this step will make the company one of the most attractive in the industry.

- At Espresso House, our employees are the core of our business. Our business begins and ends with them, and it comes alive through the interaction with our guests. Raising salaries is a strategic and long-term decision and a contribution to building a sustainable business. We have great confidence in our employees and want to show our appreciation for the valuable work that they do," concludes Anssi Thureson, CEO of Espresso House Group.
